About
I teach courses on theories of sexuality, body modification and somatechnics. I am currently immersed in a large research project of bodily transformations which involves exploring the many and varied ways in which bodies are transformed, and transformative practices are represented in different textual contexts. My project thus includes analyses of transgender practices and procedures, 'non-mainstream' body modification, cosmetic surgery, 'self-mutilation' and voluntary amputation.
